35. All By Myself (Eric Carmen)

«All by Myself» is a 1975 romantic ballad that was written, composed, and performed by Eric Carmen. The stanza is based on the second movement (Adagio sostenuto) of Sergei Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2. The chorus is reminiscent of the song «Let’s Pretend» that Carmen had recorded with the Raspberries in 1972.

32. Heaven (Bryan Adams)

«Heaven» is a power ballad performed by Canadian singer-songwriter and musician Bryan Adams, included on his fourth studio album Reckless (1984). The record company A&M Records published it on March 11, 1985 as the third single from the album.

Later it appeared on his compilation albums Hits On Fire (1988), So Far So Good (1993), Anthology (2005) and on the Bryan Adams ICON CD (2010). Adams and Jim Vallance were in charge of composing it, while Bob Clearmountain was in charge of producing it.

The first appearance of the theme was on the soundtrack of the film A Night in Heaven (1983). As part of its instrumentation it incorporates synthesizer rhythms, as well as drums and electric guitars.

«Hard to Say I’m Sorry» is a power ballad written by bassist Peter Cetera, who also sang the title track, and producer David Foster, for the group Chicago. It was released on May 17, 1982 as the lead single from the album Chicago 16.

On September 11, it reached number 1 for two weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. It was the group’s second No. 1 single. It was their first top 50 hit since «No Tell Lover» in 1978 and spent twelve weeks in the top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100.
